The SURFICE team participated in their third training school from September 26th to 29th, held at Technische Universität Darmstadt, Germany. The hosts for this event were prof. Ilia Roisman, Mingyue Ding (ESR3), and Ali Raza Shaikh (ESR4). During this event, the 13 ESRs updated the ITN regarding their most recent accomplishments, ongoing experiments, and future plans for research collaborations. Furthermore, scientific lectures focusing on interfacial flows and wetting, initiated chemical vapor deposition, ice crystal ice accretion, and optics to measure local dynamic processes were presented by #SURFICE supervisors. Moreover, the team found the opportunity to visit wetting and icing-related labs of TU Darmstadt at two Lichtwiese and Griesheim campuses. In addition, the ESRs took part in sessions about open science and data management, mental health, and supervision of master’s and bachelor’s students. Apart from the scientific part, the team went sightseeing in Darmstadt and enjoyed German beer and cuisines!
